The right heart is often affected in disease of the left heart. Left heart disease is actually the most common reason for pulmonary hypertension. Did you know that myocardial infarctions can also involve the right heart? And that right ventricular dysfunction is frequently present in patients with myocarditis and dilated and restrictive cardiomyopathy?
